San Francisco 34 at Washington 16

This was a stunning result.  The 49ers offense completely dominated the first half of this game, and their defense did pretty well too holding the Redskins to only 11 first downs and 182 total net yards.

  1. In players where other coaches see limitations, Monte Clark focuses instead on their useful skills. Rickey Anderson, who has bounced around the league since Buffalo made him a second-round draft choice out of South Carolina State in NFL78, turns up as Clark's latest HB3 revelation (22 yards on three carries in this game) following the departure of Tony Reed to Cleveland and Tony Nathan to the CFL.
