NFL 1982 Week 13 Preview

Two time defending AFC champs the Miami Dolphins now sit atop the Conference once again.  They continue to be lead by a very tough defense, but their offense has been playing much better lately.  But the East is still very tight with New York and New England just a game behind them.  Baltimore is still struggling with their passing game and their defense and look to be done at this point unless something drastic changes.  Houston is still atop the AFC Central and should be the winner out of there.  While San Diego seems to be pulling away in the AFC West.  The big story out of the West is that if the season ended right now the Oakland Raiders would be in the playoffs something no one ever envisioned.

In the NFC their defending champs seem to be now out of the playoffs with Detroit falling to 5-7.  The Packers had a good win last week to look to be the solid pick for the NFC Central.  As always they rely heavily on their defense, but their offense is better than it has been.  The Eagles and the 49ers both sit atop the NFC with 10-2 records.  Of these two the 49ers still seem like the pick because they are more balanced but the Eagles just keep winning games.  Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Washington, and Minnesota are all set to fight it out for the wild card spots.

Games to Watch
New York Giants 7-5 at Dallas 8-3-1
Both teams will be looking at this as a must win game since the race is so tight for the final three playoff spots.

Los Angeles 8-4 at Philadelphia 10-2
This will be a good test for the Eagles.  The Rams have a good defense and a dangerous offense.  This should be a tough match up for the Eagles.

San Francisco 10-2 at New Orleans 7-5
The Saints will be looking to sweep their season against the 49ers.

New England 7-5 at New York Jets 7-5
If the Jets defense played as well as they did last week they will get the win.

Baltimore 6-6 at Miami 8-4
The Colts are to the point where they have to win games.  The Dolphins will be looking to knockout the Colts.
