  4. Apparently, the Browns don't want Art Schlister either.

Some interesting roster notes about this game:

-- The Packers rested All-Pro Ken Payne in this game, though team doctors had deemed him fully recovered from a knee injury. No Green Bay pass in this game went for more more than 13 yards, and Payne is averaging 15.2 yards per reception on the season. "A good runner after making the catch, he owns 4.6 speed in 40 and has been clocked at 9.4 in the 100," says Payne's 1976 card.

-- Keeping Payne shelved precipitated Rickey Watts's being shifted up from WR4 to WR3. This made the speedster more involved in the offense but also pulled the NFC's Pro Bowl returner of NFL80 off Green Bay's punt-return team. Jessie Green, moving up from WR5 to WR4, caught the Cleveland punts instead. He had one fair catch, one return for five yards and one for six.

-- Cleveland's mostly anonymous offensive line did a fantastic job of neutralizing the Packers' heralded pass rush. C1 Tom DeLeone "has the quickness and strength necessary for the difficult job of handling the nose man across the line," says his 1976 card, and, in this game, that was Green Bay DT1 Dan Hampton, who had zero sacks. The blocker most frequently assigned DE1 Mark Gastineau, who also had no sacks, was T1 Doug Dieken. "Possessed with fine ability and maturity, Doug is rapidly becoming one of the league's outstanding tackles," Dieken's 1975 card says. "He was a tight end during his college career at Illinois but switched to tackle upon joining Browns."
