ReplyDeleteIt appeared last season that former waiver-wire pickup Willie Wilder had ended Green Bay's churn through HB1s--until David Overstreet, Cincinnati's first-round draft choice out of Oklahoma, turned up on the waiver wire during training camp. He's one of three new starters on offense, along with TE1 Pat Curran (waived by San Diego) and C1 Mark Slater (a fourth-year pro signed as a rookie free agent out of Minnesota in NFL78).
Two rookies have cracked Armstrong's stout defense. Curtis Green, the first-round pick out of Alabama State, has jumped ahead of NFL80 All-Pro Dave Pureifory at DE2, and second-rounder Rickey Jackson out of Pitt has moved in at LB3.
What a bizarre sequence.
