  4. Three Charger linebackers were selected All-Pro in NFL80; all are back, but only two retained their starting jobs. In one of the league's training-camp surprises, in-his-prime Bob Horn lost his spot to Steve Stewart. Stewart was Cleveland second-round draft choice out of Minnesota in NFL78. The lowly Browns couldn't find a role for him, but in three seasons Stewart has shined on special teams. Now he's the Chargers' LB2 and one of the team's three new starters for NFL81. The others give a new look to the passing game. Dwight McDonald, a disciplined route runner, takes over for retired Charlie Joiner, the quintessential disciplined route runner, at WR2, and fleet-footed rookie Marvin Harvey, San Diego's second-round pick out of Southern Mississippi, takes over at TE1 for waived Pat Curran (now a starter in Green Bay).

  6. HB1 Campbell is the only new starter on Dallas's offense. He came over from Denver, along with new P1 Leroy Clark, in an offseason trade for QB/P Danny White. The Cowboys' secondary has undergone a makeover with Kenny Easley, the first-round pick out of UCLA, taking over at S2 and Lester Hayes, who has worked his way up since latching on with Dallas out of Texas A&M in NFL77, playing at CB1.

  8. I love the fumble followed by the interception. The Chargers defense have to be ticked at the outcome of this game.
