Seattle at Oakland

The Raiders are in the middle of rebuilding and no one is expecting much out of them this season.  The hardest player they will have to replace is Clarence Davis who has been great for the Raiders averaging 5.1yds per carry.  They did draft George Rogers, but it appears he's still a year or two off from being a starter.

Seattle will be making a big switch this year.  They picked up Brian Sipe in the offseason and hope that he can rekindle their fires and get them back to the playoffs.  The problem is the Seahawks have had no running game and their defense has been shaky at best.  Their front seven on defense are very young, and so they may still be a few years off from being back to a playoff contender.

  1. Interesting that Sipe beat out Stevie Myer for QB1 in Seattle. Myer has been fine for the Seahawks; it's their inability to find a running back that has kept their offense from doing better, and, while they appeared to have found a prospect last season in James Jones, here Seattle is back to relying on James Betterson and Sterling Rolfe.

    Oakland's a curious card ...

  2. Of course, Rolfe and Betterson look like Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris against Oakland's defense.

  3. Yeah the Oakland defense is pretty sad. They may end up getting the number one pick after this season.

  4. The rookie makes good on his first attempt--a key carry in the clutch, no less!

Oakland's ball on Seattle's 17 yard line. Second and 10 to go. :29 left in the fourth quarter. The score is Seattle 23, Oakland 24.

Oakland's QB1 #11 Ken Stabler gives to HB3 #27 George Rogers. Rogers runs for a gain of just over 8 yards. Rogers is tackled by Seattle's CB1 #24 Ernie Jones. Third and less than 2 to go. That was O26cntr1 (1711) against GB1BLNK0 (1713).
