A few years ago the Jets made a good run down the stretch of the regular season backed by their defense.  As their offense has come along, their defense has always been a constant.  They aren't a dominant defense but a very effective defense.  This year after a hot start their defense fell apart.  This shutout of the Colts has to be a good sign for Jets fans, and a very big win.
