  1. The top overall selection in the NFL77 draft out of Tennessee, Morgan has never found his way to the top of the depth chart in Denver or in Los Angeles. And yet Chuck Knox has found a way to leverage this game changer ...

  2. Another day at the office for LB2 Isiah Robertson: six tackles, two pass knocksdown and an interception.

Robertson's 1977 card says he was selected in 1976 to the NFC Pro Bowl team for the fifth time in six years since the Rams made him a first-round draft choice in 1971 out of Southern University. There, Robertson intercepted 11 passes over three seasons and was named a Sporting News All-American as a senior. His interception and 59-yard returned clinched the Rams' 19-10 playoff victory over the Redskins in 1974.

  3. As for the Saints, one wonders if it is now time for Hank Stram to turn away from two of the best rags-to-riches stories of the NFL76 era, Peil Pennington and Rick Lockwood, and toward two high NFL77 draftees who've never found their niche, Tommy Kramer and Tony Dorsett.

Dorsett is in the fire-alarm business, says his 1981 card. Kramer's says three of his older brothers were college quarterbacks.
