With 25 seconds left Bob Avellini hit James Scott for a 36yd touchdown on what looked like the game winning play, but it was not to be. Jim Plunkett hit on three straight pass plays following a good squib kick return to win the game with no time left. A big win for the 49ers since the Rams lost this week.
