The number one defense in the league shut down the Rams similar to how the Rams in their game before shut down the 49ers. Miami managed to take Lawrence McCutcheon completely out of this game and force James Harris to get desperate and eventually make a big turnover late in the game. Early in this game Benny Malone went down with an injury and never returned, but Rolf Mequita and Vencie Simms both stepped up to keep Miami's ball control offense moving. The Dolphins also managed to give up no sacks in this game.
